It is not wrong to envision things ...yet, when facts are presented, we should consider them.

The thousand year reign of Jesus ruling on earth does not have a long description in the Bible of what that is like.  We like to imagine about what we don't know.  And I have to admit ...my imaginings may be quite wrong.

Maybe there will be no wealthy and no poor.  Maybe there will be a redistribution of wealth and health care for everyone.  So, those with a communist ideology may think they are on the right track.

They are not.

What known communist platforms center upon God and also include Jesus?? One may look at the Kibbutz in Israel ...but when involving the biggest nations, and when a substantial economy is involved the tendency too often is for certain factors to move the country closer and closer to censorship and control, with the pretense of expanding freedoms, but moving ever so dangerously more closer to looking like a dictatorship. And when most of us think of communism, those dictatorships do come to mind.

And I am certain that any health care that Jesus would promote would not include abortions, nor any other promiscuous behaviors with their fledgling upstart counter convictions.

The Bible says that when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be loosed out of his prison ...and shall go out to deceive the nations.

After having lived on earth with Jesus ruling for a thousand years, you may wonder why anyone would want a change ...and even more why any bid for a change could rally any troops.

But, to answer that question, each person would have to evaluate their own level of dissatisfaction ...and to what lengths a group of like-minded dissatisfied people could stir each other beyond the typical bounds of reason.

And when they surrounded the saints, and the beloved city ...fire came down from God to devour them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone.

Seems rather short and direct.

Then came a new heaven and a new earth.  The holy city, new Jerusalem comes down from God out of heaven.

The most remarkable is how far it would extend up into space ...the new holy city, Jerusalem.

To put it into perspective, Mt. Everest is 5.5 miles high.

Passenger jets travel at an altitude of over 9 miles.

Jet fighters ...at around 12 miles.

The Space Shuttle ...at around 170 miles.

The last layer of our atmosphere, the exosphere, begins at approximately 300 miles.

The new Jerusalem would extend more than 4 times that high, and in surface area it would appear to cover all of the Middle East.

Of course, it doesn't mean it is a cube ...it could be shaped like a mountain, like other references in the Old Testament, or perhaps you'd prefer to say a pyramid.

Anyway, it is beyond remarkable ...and beyond comprehension.  Yes, it is beyond all that.

                                                           It is wonderful ...and true.
